Local Artist, Troy Ford, Completes Mural Installation at Momentum Art Studio
As Community Support Advocates prepares to open Momentum Art Studio, local artist, Troy Ford, completes his latest art installation. Troy Ford is a local artist who does work in graphic design, marketing, journalism, furnature design, carpentry, painting and mural design. Troy designed his latest piece specifically for CSA’s Momentum Art Studio and donated a majority of the installation to the program.
Momentum Art Studio is a studio for artists with disabilities and will be opening in November within the Mainframe Studios Artist Community at 900 Keosauqua Way in Des Moines. As part of the studio, CSA will offer free workshops, supplies, teaching, mentoring and art studio space to individuals impacted by disabilities in Des Moines. CEO Christina Smith says the goal of the studio is to promote hope and resiliency through art by assisting artists with disabilities to grow and build their craft, and also by getting art and art opportunities to individuals who have never tried art before. We are very lucky to have our studio located within the incredible artist community of Mainframe Studios. And, we are very pleased to have our studio have such an incredible mural installation. Troy’s work is incredible and really highlights our experience so far and the support we have received for this project from the artist community.
Come check out the mural and learn more about the Studio and Momentum services at our Grand Opening on November 9th from 4-7pm. For more information visit https://www.facebook.com/events/Studio open house
