Shannon Kaster
Licensed Master Social Worker
Your experiences and emotions are not simply stored as words, so why limit therapy to one mode of communication? I offer a non-traditional approach, integrating expressive style with therapeutic techniques that support you to explore your thoughts in a less direct way. I serve adults and children as young as four years old for individual therapy. I also enjoy working with families, couples, and parent-child sessions to strengthen the attachment bond.
My therapy techniques include mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to manage mental health symptoms. I am currently in training/supervision required for Play Therapy credentialing. I offer Client-Centered Play Therapy, Filial Therapy, and Sandtray to all my clients. There is no such thing as “age-appropriate” when it comes to play!
I enjoy spending free time with family and friends and learning new things.
